The eighth academic camp “I love the Danube” organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection (Republic Water Directorate), Coca-Cola Hellenic, the International Commission for the Preservation of the Danube River (ICPDR), the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the Faculty of Applied Ecology Futura, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy, City of Belgrade and JKP “Zelenilo-Belgrade” was held on the Great War Island in the period from 13-22.7.2015. The camp gathered over twenty students from different faculties all over the Serbia and one faculty from Montenegro:
>Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Occupational Safety, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Serbian Language and Literature and Faculty of Law in Nis;
>Faculty of Technical Sciences and Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Novi Sad;
>Faculty of Economics and Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Kragujevac;
>Faculty of Teaching Education from Vranje;
>Faculty of Mining and Geology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Belgrade Polytechnic, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Organizational Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Philology, Faculty of Teacher Education and Faculty of Applied Ecology Futura from Belgrade;
>Faculty of Food Technology, Food Safety and Ecology from Montenegro.
The aim of the camp is to bring closer the topic of the importance of river protection and the environment in general through lectures and practical work. Activities included workshops with professors, representatives of NGOs, student organizations, fieldwork, case study work, and fun activities. The lecturers were: Dragana Milovanović from the Republic Water Directorate, Rastko Ajtić from the Institute for Nature Protection of Serbia, Dragan Simić from the League for Ornithological Action of Serbia, Momčilo Tomić from JKP Zelenilo Belgrade, Momčilo Antonijević from the NGO Snaga bilja, Dragan Povrenović and Vladimir Pavićević from the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of Belgrade, Vladimir Vasić from PE “Serbia Forests”, Nataša Petrović from the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, University of Belgrade, Maja Jovanović from the Secretariat for Environmental Protection of Belgrade, Sonja Bađura from NGO WWF, Milica Kašanin Grubin from the Institute for Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy (IHTM), Predrag Simonović from the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade, Čedomir Beljić from the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade,Vladimir Beškoski from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, Marko Knežević from the student organization AIESEC, Dragan Milovanović from the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade, Boris Erg director of IUCN, Lidija Amidžić from the Faculty of Applied Ecology Futura, Emilija Manić from the Faculty of Economics, Jordana Ninkov from Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops.
The technical organization and logistics of the camp are entrusted to Futura. Dejan Marković, Ivana Petrić, Dimitrije Aleksić, Milos Ninković, Nevena Bozić and Vojkan Dimitrijević were at the camp.
